Top 9 Music Festivals In Florida

1.) EDC Orlando

November 11-13, 2022 | Orlando, Florida

https://orlando.electricdaisycarnival.com/

EDC Orlando is the follow up to the iconic Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Located at Tinker Field right next to downtown Orlando, EDC O lives up to its reputation as being one of the biggest & best productions in the entire country. This festival is a true wonderland, and although slightly smaller than it’s older sibling located on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, EDC O brings a more tropical vibe that many attendees often prefer.

The EDC Orlando 2022 lineup featured EDM legends such as Martin Garrix, Afrojack, and Tiesto, while also hosting some of the current hottest names in EDM  like Zeds Dead, John Summit, Rezz, Svdden Death, and more!

Now, the music is only a small sliver of the overall EDC experience. The festival is designed to be a giant playground where you can be your true self and have genuine fun. There are colors and lights as far as the eye can see, as well as jaw-dropping art installations and interactive characters! If you plan on attending EDC Orlando, I highly recommend exploring the entire festival, because you never know what or who you’ll run into!

2.) Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival

March 2-5, 2023 | Okeechobee, Florida

https://www.okeechobeefest.com/

If you’re looking for a great kickstart to your 2023 festival season, Okeechobee would be your best choice! Okeechobee is held every year at Sunshine Grove, a beautiful 800-acre property that features large grassy areas perfect for camping, pine and palmetto trees that give the festival that “jungle” feel, and even a small lake called Aquachobee that is perfect for cooling down in the hot sun!

Okeechobee is a camping festival where you set up a temporary home right next to all the action. The people at Okeechobee really make the festival special, so make sure to say hey to your camp neighbors and make some new friends! For me, this festival stands out from the rest because of its diverse music lineup. I consider this festival the ultimate hippie destination because the music is funky, and the vibes are always high. Some of the headliners for next year include huge names like Odesza, Griz, Excision, and Earth, Wind & Fire.

Along with all the wonderful performances, Okeechobee is also home to many beautiful art pieces and cool surprises to find that enhance your experience.

3.) Forbidden Kingdom Music Festival

June 9-10, 2023 | Orlando, Florida

https://www.forbiddenkingdomfestival.com/

Located at the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando, Florida

This is for all my bass heads! Located at the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando, Forbidden Kingdom brings a heavy lineup of dubstep, riddim, experimental bass, & drum and bass. Even though the venue is fairly small, the sound quality and production definitely are not! With huge names like Excision, Subtronics, Seven Lions, and more, it is certainly one of the most intense festivals out there. Some people even say that Forbidden Kingdom is Florida’s mini Lost Lands! Be sure to keep an eye out for more information about the festival happening next June!

4.) Ultra Music Festival

March 24-26, 2023 | Miami, Florida

https://ultramusicfestival.com/

Located at Bayfront Park in Miami, Ultra is one of Florida’s most iconic music festivals and has been around for almost 24 years! Ultra is a really cool experience because of its unique location and legendary artists. The phase one lineup for next year just came out, and a few of the names that I’m most excited to see are Swedish House Mafia, Ganja White Night, Subtronics, and so many more. I say the location of the festival is unique because you’re right on the water and surrounded by high-rise buildings, so you get to see all the beautiful aspects of Miami.

Another great thing about the location of Ultra is that the Miami nightlife scene is guaranteed to keep the party going until the early hours of the morning after the festival is over! Be sure to check out Club Space if you are in need of any after-parties!

5.) Sunset Music Festival

May 26-28, 2023 | Tampa, Florida

https://smftampa.com/

If you live in Tampa and need some plans, look no further! Sunset Music Festival is an all-EDM festival held at the Raymond James Stadium every Memorial Day weekend. Raymond James Stadium is located right next to downtown Tampa and only ten minutes from the airport, making it super easy to find lodging and plans for before and after the festival.

Even though it’s one of Florida’s more lowkey music festivals, it still brings out some pretty impressive DJs, so don’t sleep on it! Artists like Zeds Dead, John Summit, Dom Dolla, and Liquid Stranger made last year a hard year to miss out on! The stages are fun, the energy is electric, and you can tell that everyone is stoked to be there.

When I went to Sunset in 2021, one of my favorite things was these massive water cannons they would spray on everyone to cool us down in the hot sun. Another great thing about Sunset is that it’s always held on Memorial Day weekend, so you’ll always have that Monday off to recover!

6.) Suwanee Hulaween

October 27-30, 2022 | Live Oak, Florida

https://suwanneehulaween.com/

Out of all the festivals I have been to in Florida, Hulaween is definitely my favorite. I went for the first time this past October for only one day, so that says a lot! Never before have I experienced such magical energy from the venue and the people there; it was like stepping into a whole new dimension. The festival is located deep in the woods at the Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park, so you constantly feel like a forest fairy who has finally found where they belong. In my opinion, the look and feel of the festival was very similar to Electric Forest!

A really cool thing about Hulaween is that camping is first come first serve, so you can basically post up anywhere in the woods and call it your home for the weekend! The lineup is always super diverse, and there’s a genre of music for everyone. Some of the headliners from this year included The String Cheese Incident, Fisher, Louis the Child, and Portugal the Man. If you go to Hulaween, make sure to catch one of The String Cheese Incident’s sets because they’re always an insanely fun time and they perform every day!

Alongside the amazing music, be sure to also check out the numerous vendors and food options. I was overwhelmed in the best way with everything I could buy, and I could never choose what to eat because everything looked phenomenal!

7.) iiiPoints

October 21-22, 2023 | Miami, Florida

https://www.iiipoints.com/

iiiPoints is a funky, unique music festival located in Wynwood, Miami. Wynwood is known for its beautiful art and wall murals, and it’s a great spot to visit any time of the year! The festival itself is also heavily focused on art and has tons of amazing spectacles to look at. iiiPoints has had some awesome EDM artists, such as Flume, John Summit, Porter Robinson, Chris Lake, and features many other genres like rock, indie, jazz, and Latin music.

Along with the stunning art and top-notch artists, the festival has six mind-blowing stages with their own special vibe. From what I’ve heard, the sound quality and production level are off the charts as well! If you live in Miami or will be visiting there next October, be sure to check it out!

8.) Sunfest

May 4-7, 2023 | West Palm Beach, Florida

https://www.sunfest.com/

The vibe of Sunfest is quite different from the other festivals on this list, but it’s still a great time! Located right on the water in downtown West Palm Beach, Sunfest is a chill multi-genre festival focused on music and arts.

One of the best things about this festival is how affordable it is, with 4-day tickets being as low as $90 if you buy them early! The music at Sunfest is all over the place, and there’s something that everyone will like. I decided to include Sunfest on this list because they usually bring out one huge EDM artist each year, like Steve Aoki, Diplo, Marshmello, and Zedd, who have all played in the past. The vendors and shops at Sunfest are fantastic, and you can find so many wonderful local artists from around the area to support.

Sunfest also has a much calmer and more relaxing vibe than most music festivals and is great for the entire family. Fun fact, my parents brought me to Sunfest every year since I was just a baby! Start them while they’re young I guess…

9.) Groove Cruise Miami

January 19-23, 2023 | Departs from Miami, Florida

https://www.groovecruise.com/miami

Want to get away from it all? Groove Cruise could be the answer! I know this festival isn’t technically in Florida, but this jam-packed party at sea departs from Miami, Florida. Groove Cruise combines two of the finest things in life: a luxury experience on the water and electronic dance music! The 2023 lineup is absolutely stacked, including huge names like Juaz, Claptone, Cloonee, Kaivon, and the list goes on.

If the party at sea isn’t enough for you, the ship also drops anchor at Labadee’s Private Island Paradise, which has rides, boat tours, parasailing, and of course tons of bars and food. According to the Groove Cruise website, they are known as the “love boat” and have over a hundred FREE weddings, engagements, and bachelor and bachelorette parties. If you’re trying to find some love or just want to party, definitely add Groove Cruise to your list of 2023 plans!
