The Ultimate Guide To EDC Las Vegas

How do I start planning for EDC Las Vegas?

First and foremost, you’ll want to secure your tickets early. Tickets for EDC Las Vegas typically go on sale in late September or early October, with a variety of different packages and pricing options available. Once you’ve secured your tickets, start planning your accommodations. You can choose to camp on-site, which we’ll discuss in more detail later, or you can opt for a hotel or rental property in the area.

It’s also important to plan your transportation to and from the festival. If you’re flying in, consider booking your flight early to secure the best price. Once you arrive in Las Vegas, you can rent a car or utilize rideshare services to get to the festival. If you’re camping on-site, you’ll want to plan for additional transportation needs, such as shuttle buses or bicycles to get around the festival grounds.

If you are traveling with a group, make sure you get in contact with everyone early to coordinate every detail in advance. Things can become complicated when a lot of people are involved, so constant communication and proper planning are key. If you are meeting up with people at the festival, get in touch with them and set meet-up times and spots in advance just in case you can’t reach them when you get into the venue. If you are going to EDC Las Vegas by yourself, make sure to do lots of research about how to stay safe, share your location with someone the entire time, and always be aware of your surroundings. You can also use apps like Radiate to meet people going to the same festival if you want to make some new friends while you’re there!

What should I bring to EDC Las Vegas?

EDC Las Vegas has a list of prohibited items, so be sure to review the guidelines before packing for the festival. Some main items that are not allowed on the festival grounds include weapons, drugs, and outside food or beverages. You can bring a sealed water bottle or hydration pack, as well as an empty reusable water bottle to fill up throughout the day. Cameras and video equipment are allowed, so you can capture all of the incredible moments at the festival. Glow sticks, LED clothing/accessories, and flow toys are also allowed, but be sure to check the guidelines for specific restrictions on these items.

When it comes to packing for EDC Las Vegas, it’s important to bring the essentials while also being mindful of the festival guidelines. Here’s a checklist of some things you’ll want to bring to the festival:

  • Ticket: Don’t forget to bring your EDC Las Vegas wristband. You won’t be able to enter the festival without it.
  • ID: Make sure to bring a valid government-issued ID with your photo and birthdate.
  • Cash or Credit Card: You’ll want to have money on hand to purchase food, drinks, and merchandise.
  • Phone and Portable Charger: Keep your phone charged throughout the festival, so you don’t miss out on any important updates or moments.
  • Water Bottle or Hydration Pack: Stay hydrated by bringing a refillable water bottle or hydration pack. EDC Las Vegas offers free water stations throughout the festival grounds.
  • Sunscreen: Protect your skin from the intense desert sun by bringing sunscreen with a high SPF.
  • Sunglasses: Sunglasses will protect your eyes from the sun during the day and are great for the intense lights and lasers at night.
  • Hat or Bandana: Keep the sun off your face by wearing a hat or bandana.
  • Comfortable Shoes: You’ll be doing a lot of walking and dancing, so bring comfortable shoes that you can wear for hours.
  • Raveraide: Staying hydrated is important at festivals. Drinking Raveraide is a great way to get electrolytes and vitamins in all day.
  • Small Bag, Backpack, or Fanny Pack: Bring a small bag, backpack, or fanny pack to carry all your essentials.
  • Hand Fan: Bring a hand fan to cool yourself down if it gets too hot and to fan the people around you in the crowd.

If you choose to camp at EDC Las Vegas, there are a few additional items you’ll want to bring to make your stay more comfortable. There are two camping options: the Moon Glow ShiftPod and the Desert Rose ShiftPod. The only difference between the two is that the Desert Rose ShiftPod comes with beds and bedding. The Moon Glow ShiftPod is empty. You’ll have to bring everything else you think you’ll need in yourself. All the camping information can be found in the Camp EDC Guidelines section of the EDC Las Vegas website, but here’s a brief, basic checklist of some of the key things you’ll need:

  • Sleeping Bag: You’ll need a thick sleeping bag to sleep in if you have the Moon Glow ShiftPod. If you are driving in, I would recommend an air mattress or cot as well.
  • Pillows and Blankets: These are only really necessary for the Moon Glow ShiftPods, but they’re good to have if you want some extra coziness in the Desert Rose ShiftPod.
  • Cooler: Keep your food and drinks cold by bringing a cooler. Make sure to pack or buy tons of water!
  • Small Propane Grills/Stoves: Prepare your meals at the campsite by bringing a cooking stove, and don’t forget paper plates and plastic utensils. You can bring small propane tanks as well, but only up to 4 lbs per group.
  • Paper Towels and Wipes: Paper towels and wipes can help keep you and your space clean and tidy.
  • Earplugs: Earplugs protect your ears and are essential for every festival. They can also help block out sounds at night so you can sleep better.
  • First-Aid Kit: Be prepared for any minor injuries or accidents by bringing a first-aid kit.
  • Trash Bags: Keep the campsite clean by bringing trash bags.
  • Head Lamp or Flashlight: Navigate the campsite at night by bringing a headlamp or flashlight.
  • Speaker: Bring a portable speaker to jam out while hanging at camp or getting ready for the festival.
  • Food and Drinks: If you are bringing a car in, make sure to bring lots of snacks and drinks to power up throughout the day.
  • Camp Decorations: Make the campsite your own with decorations like flags, tapestries, totems, and more!

Types of camping at EDC Las Vegas

EDC Las Vegas offers three kinds of camping: the Moon Glow ShiftPod, the Desert Rose ShiftPod, and RV Camping. The ShiftPods are 12.5′ x 12.5′ x 6’10” tents with weather-resistant, multilayered, ultra-reflective fabric to help protect against the elements. The only difference between the two types of ShiftPods is that the Desert Rose ShiftPod comes with beds and bedding. Both types of ShiftPods come with only an artificial grass floor, a small hanging lamp, an AC Unit, and a power strip. The RV Camping offers power options, water services, and parking for additional vehicles in a lot outside the RV area. All three kinds of camping options are within walking distance of the festival and give campers exclusive in/out privileges to and from the festival (during festival hours) via a dedicated campers-only festival entrance. All campers also have access to bathrooms and free shower facilities located in all the camping areas.
